Energy-cost comparison only: this does not include purchase price, insurance, maintenance, financing, battery replacement, resale value or taxes.

How this calculator works

Petrol cost per km = Petrol Price / Mileage.

EV battery kWh per km = 1 / EV km per kWh.

The EV value is adjusted for charging loss before multiplying by electricity tariff.

Example

If petrol costs ₹100/litre and a car gives 15 km/l, petrol energy cost is about ₹6.67/km. An EV at 6 km/kWh can be much lower depending on the electricity tariff.
